Danny Zuko, you are the one that I want

Another Thursday morning approaches, and again I snooze my alarm all the way from 8.30 till 9.45, leaving TEN MINUTES to get ready for uni! Ergh, I don't know why its so hard to get out of bed on Thursdays, probs the knowledge of a FULL DAY OF LECTURES FROM 10-6.....vommmmcannno.

I step out looking like I should be in Grease, completely unintentional:

The skirt is Vintage from Beyond Retro and I bought it sooooo long ago and haven't worn it so its about time it saw the light of day!! Just so happens that Pencils skirts on a full day at Uni don't work so well, leg movement = very restricted!!

Have felt like a PINK LADY for the whole day! Just call me Rizzo!

Is it a bit awkward that I base my fashion style on the cast of Grease?!?!!!! WOW.

Hope you all had fantabulous days!

Mid week rushhhh

Today I'm wearing:

  • Beetles T-shirt- H & M
  • Vintage pencil skirt - Beyond Retro
  • Chelsea Boots - Topshop
Ill wear it with my denim jacket and faux fur stole (because its cold haha) Impractical as ever!

I was reading Charis's blog post about having a 'clothing detox' and boy do I need one. (www.charismagick.com) I think its a good idea to try and get over my irrational fear and dislike of charity  shops in order to save lots of money.

Sorry about the short post, I've got loads to do today! :(! Have a great day!

Bore Off Toms

Before you start thinking I'm a horrible person, I'm all for the message behind Toms footwear. I think its fab that for every pair of TOMS bought the company donates a pair of shoes to a child in need for their 'ONE FOR ONE' campaign. In 2006, founder Blake Mycoskie travelled to Argentina and was shocked to see that lots of children had no shoes to protect their feet, from this he created TOMS. Shoes for today and for tomorrow.

However, I think the consumer would be more willing to purchase TOMS if they were more appealing. They aren't the most attractive footwear nor are they very long lasting. (A friend of mine wore hers a few times and noticed how they had started to fall apart so quickly.)

Tuesday treats with the above spectacles. You can't argue that they aren't very aesthetically pleasing!!!

The hate for the TOM has been a long time issue with me, however, last night was the peak of the dislike. After a night out I saw a boy wearing the below THING:

Although its not a TOM its offensive in itself.... a) its not summer, b) its not even proper rainbow colours and c) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT DO THAT....you are not on a beach HUNNAY. The biggest and best treat is when an ELASTICATED ANKLE JEAN IS WORN WITH A TOM/ESPADRILLE. This trend needs to bore off.

What does everyone else think about Toms? Tom-a-liciuos?

The Grammy's - Hawt and Dangerous or Not?

Needless to say the Grammy's is one of the biggest nights in the Music industry's calendar so why didn't some of the biggest recording artists in the world get the memo? Im looking at you NICKI MINAJ.

This year I was disappointed to see so many of the biggest names in music not looking HAWT AND DANGEROUS as they usually do!

1) Nicki Minaj wearing Versace

DONT DO THAT!!!! Nicki, what were you thinking? Versace, what were you thinking? Its pretty clear that NO ONE was thinking about anything except how ugly can we make someone look and how much do we want to shoot ourselves in the foot as a fashion house? I usually think Nicki Minaj gets it right in the style stakes however this is a SERIOUS case of 'sack the stylist.'

2) Kelly Rowland wearing Alberta Ferretti

I thought Kelly Rowland looked #AMAZEBALLS in her Alberta Ferretti gown. (Not too keen on the hair though!!) It fitted perfectly and Kelly looks sexy while still looking modest and classy. (Unlike Rihanna - see below) Its a far cry from some of the X-FACTOR related disaster outfits that she wore.

3) Rihanna wearing Armani

Now I know Im not Rihanna's biggest fan (she is NO Beyonce, lets face it!) I do think she looks pretty good in this Armani LBD despite shocking the crowds with the lack of fabric involved in the dress (lol jk, she never wears clothes anyway). It could look very tacky and slutty but Rihanna pulls it off well. However, I do have one issue with the look, the hair. What is with the roots? She looked hotter as a redhead but I guess Blondes do have more fun...

4) Katy Perry wearing Elie Saab

I love this creation by Elie Saab. I don't know if I like Katy in it though, it makes her look a lot bigger than she actually is. Plus the blue hair (which is stunning) and the blue dress is overkill. Nevertheless its deffo a show stopper!!!

5) Fergie wearing Jean Paul-Gaultier

Fergie, Fergie, Fergie - sack your stylist and don't wear granny knickers to the Grammy's!!! Block colours are in, I know, but this is NOT OKAY. Its NEON! Blerughhhh!

Now for my two faves:

Kelly Osbourne wearing Giuseppe Zanotti.

I love sequins on clothing and Kelly looks totally stunning in this beautiful figure hugging dress, its understated yet still attention grabbing. I also LOVE her lilac-grey hair, it goes so well with her skin tone.

AND

Kate Beckinsale wearing Zuhair Murad

I think Kate looks sensational. Even thought this outfit is very classic, simple and traditional I think she looks a million dollars!

I don't think anyone got it as wrong as 'Sasha Gradiva' who apparently thought it was an audition for Terminator!! When asked what he was thinking the stylist said: 'Make couture, not war. Thats the message of her outfit.' WOW. Words escape me...

What was your favourite look?

Snowy weather, snowy mind

Apologies for the lack of blogging recently...Ive been ill and the snow has caused writers block. I wish it would just go away! Its not fun anymore! Im sure loads of you will agree!
Here is a snowy outfit:
Not very practical for the snow, but since when was fashion meant to be practical!?! My spotty tights are my new favourite thing, these are the big spots version from Primarni, £2.50.
The Freak Like Me fashion show which Im working on with my course at university is taking shape with lots of exciting ideas being put around. In the past week we have been working on the outfits, putting things together (all clothing had been donated for use by Fashion Design students), working out what we need to buy and putting together a rough money guide for how much everything will cost us as the Styling team.
We have broken down the theme 'Freak Like Me,' into three freaky sub sections: Alien, Freaky rag/china doll and Fetish wear.

Alien:

Doll:

Fetish:

Above are some of the the outfits we are using. They are still looking pretty tame but by the time it comes to the actual event they will look anything but...WATCH THIS SPACE.

In other news:

DAVID BECKHAM!! Totally unrelated, but hot nevertheless. (Who doesn't appreciate a cheeky sleeve tattoo!?!!!??) Thank you to David for designing (and modelling) his underwear collection for high street giants H&M, you have made the world a better place cos your bod is all over the high street!! What do we think ladies?
Lots of Love
