Get your freak on

So Tuesday night was the The Fashion Show that myself and course have been preparing for, for 2 months. The theme being FREAK LIKE ME we narrowed it down into three sub sections:
  • Doll
  • Alien
  • Fetish
All the models look absolutely amazing, hair and make up really helped bring the looks together:
Dolls:

For the Doll look we wanted to make it look more freaky than just a standard doll which is always quite cutesy. The eye make up really helped with this and brought out the girl's eyes, making them look scary.

The dolls hair was my favourite hair look. The talented stylists at Hensmans salon in Northampton firstly slicked back the hair into buns and then added these hair bands on with the bow. These were made from padding and then hair put on top which a coloured section.

Alien:

For this look we took inspiration from SS10 Alexander McQueen, where he showcased a catwalk full of aliens. The hair was plaited and colour was added. With the boys Hensmans added a bit of colour.

For the boys make up we had green eye shadow and filled in the eyebrows for a more prominent look.

Make up included black lipstick and a green smokey eye effect

Fetish:

The fetish girls had their make up done to make them look scary and disturbed. With long eyelashes, smeared lipstick and one eyebrow! The boys had eye liner and coloured quiffs.

Ill do another post of the clothes when I get access to the photos!

What do you think? What was your favourite look?

The Poster for the show

I've done a few posts concerning the Fashion Show that myself and my course mates at university are putting on on Tueaday 27th (4 days eee!). Its getting very stressful, but exciting at the same time! We had a run through day of rehearsals the other day and here are a few photos from it:

Paris Fashion Week

As mentioned in a previous post I was lucky enough to be have the chance to be at Paris Fashion Week by interning in the Matthew Williamson showroom. Although this meant I didn't get to see any shows (well try and blag my way into one). It was pretty cool being in Paris while all these amazing catwalk shows were going on, a favourite of mine being the Marc Jacobs/ Louis Vuitton steam train! (More on this later)

I 'd never worked in a show room before but when I used to help my Mother be a buyer for her bridal boutique (the Bridal Box, Oxford) I attended many showrooms so I had an idea of what it would be like. Interning is never a glamourous job but everyone at Matthew Williamson was so friendly and lovely it made such a difference.

I was working 8.30am-8.30pm most days which left very little time for site seeing and touristy activities. This is what I saw:

I  love love love Paris, its so beautiful! It was really fun going out for drinks with the other interns and going out in Paris. I was lucky enough to be able to stay with a friend who is on his year abroad in Paris, his flat overlooks the Eiffel Tour! A hashtagAMAZEBALLS moment!

Below are a few photos of the Mattthew Williamson collection A/W12 (more will be uploaded soon, but the images are currently on my phone). If you want to see the full collection check out my last post which showcases both SS12 AND AW12.

Paris

I'm sorry for the lack of blog recently...I have been very busy with university assignments and other equally exciting things...!

Something that is actually VERY exciting is that last December I sent Matthew Williamson an email about a possible internship with them and they got back to me and interviewed me to work in their Paris showrooms. So here I am, living in one of my best friends boyfriends flat and I start work tomorrow!!!

I'm very excited and lucky to have such an amazing opportunity in such a beautiful city! Here is the Matthew Williamson S/S12 collection:

I love this collection, espicially the bright zesty colours and the coral (one of my fave colours)

And the A/W collection:

Apologies for the shortness of this post, I hope to have some time in the evenings after work to blog a bit more about how much I love Paris!
