The Harvey Nicks Controversy

I was doing a bit of a stalk on the internet the other day and came across the recent ad campaign by Harvey Nichols. Has anyone else seen these? On first sight I thought they were a joke advert. But it turns out they are real. I think they are quite funny and its refreshing to see fashion being able to laugh at itself. Especially such a prestigious name as Harvey Nicks!

H.N launched a string of adverts with the tagline "try to contain your excitement" where the models appear to have wet themselves with excitement for the H.N summer sale! This isn't the first time H.N have come under fire for their adverts- at christmas 2011 it fronted a controversial campaign with the slogan "Turn your walk of shame into the stride of pride with Harvey Nichols."

The recent summer ads look a bit like this....

They caused quite a lot of controversy with people even commenting that these ads made them less likely to shop at H.N in future which is quite a big deal.

What do you think of the adverts?! Is it funny or is it just too silly??

I'd love to hear your opinions!

Love Lexie x x x
